Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a surgical method, whose main benefit lies in minimized incision size and reduction of postoperative pain, as well as less strain on the patient due to the surgery, quicker recovery of the gastrointestinal tract, earlier mobility of the patient and their self-sufficiency. In a laparoscopic procedure, several small incisions are made allowing the surgeon to enter the abdominal cavity through special entry tubes, optical equipment with a camera and dedicated instruments. The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia.
